Electrical Impedance Tomography (EIT) represents a useful noninvasive bedside monitoring tool that is able to monitor lung recruitment, distribution of ventilation and other effects of mechanical ventilation.

On Monday, January 1, 2013, there was a meeting with representatives of Maltron… and Non-Conventional Ventilatory Team (NVT) aimed at plans for both laboratory and clinical research of EIT in respiratory care. The meeting is a part of the long time cooperation between the two bodies. NVT uses two EIT systems during their research: Draeger Pulmovista 500 (http://campaigns.draeger.com/pulmovista500/en/) and Maltron Sheffield MK 3.5 (http://www.maltronint.com/eit/eit.php). Ask us about the differences between these two systems before you decide witch one to buy :-)
