High Frequency Jet Ventilation (HFJV) is a very efficient ventilatory technique especially for newborns and pediatric patients with Respiratory Distress Syndrome (RDS).
Nonetheless, for rational and effective use of this life-saving ventilatory technique, several complementary monitoring and control techniques might be very useful. We organized a meeting with Bunnell Inc. in Salt Lake City, Utah, USA, on April 7, 2013 about research projects dealing with HFJV. Bunnell Inc. produces the most spread HFJV ventilator Life Pulse (http://www.bunl.com/product-tabs2.html). New research topics were proposed and discussed.
